PCSI in Action: A Week of Service and Stories

August 5, 2025

As a Community Action Agency, PCSI is committed to working alongside the communities we serve to create lasting impact. In just one week this July, we had the privilege of collaborating with leaders across Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, strengthening partnerships and advancing our shared mission of community empowerment.

Visit from Representative Lindsay Powell

PCSI was honored to welcome Pennsylvania Representative Lindsay Powell (District 21) to our offices on Thursday, July 24. During her visit, Representative Powell toured our facilities, including our community food pantry, and engaged in thoughtful dialogue about current public policy issues at both the state and federal levels. We appreciated the opportunity to discuss how PCSI can continue to support her constituents and contribute to meaningful community impact.

City in the Streets (Allentown)

PCSI was proud to participate in Mayor Ed Gainey’s “City in the Streets” event in Pittsburgh’s Allentown neighborhood on Tuesday, July 22! We had the opportunity to connect with community members and share how our comprehensive services support financial stability and economic mobility across a wide range of needs.

Jeremiah’s Place Block Party

On July 25, PCSI staff attended the 7th annual Jeremiah’s Place Block Party! We handed out information about all our programs and met the fabulous attendees, young and old.
