Pittsburgh Community Services, Inc. (PCSI) was honored to meet with Pittsburgh Mayor Corey O’Connor to share the organization’s work, recent accomplishments, and continued commitment to supporting Pittsburgh residents.
Because the Mayor of Pittsburgh holds a perpetual seat on PCSI’s board, the organization was especially glad to share its successes, plans, and goals with O’Connor, the city’s 62nd mayor.
At the meeting, PCSI Executive Director Sarah Cook presented highlights from the organization’s 2025 Annual Report and discussed how PCSI continues to respond to community needs through workforce development, food access, utility assistance, economic mobility programming, and other essential supports for Pittsburgh households.
As Pittsburgh’s federally designated Community Action Agency, PCSI has served the region since 1983. Community Action Agencies help individuals and families build better lives for themselves and their communities. PCSI works alongside Pittsburghers with low income to build financial stability and create pathways toward long-term economic mobility and prosperity.
In 2025, PCSI served more than 1,000 households across Allegheny County, with 89% of those served residing within the City of Pittsburgh. The organization facilitated more than $202,000 in utility assistance, distributed over $150,000 worth of food through its Food Pantry program, expanded its workforce development programming, and launched new initiatives focused on economic mobility and job readiness.
