Expanding Access to Employment Support
Pittsburgh Community Services, Inc. (PCSI) is now serving as a Neighborhood Employment Center (NEC) through the City of Pittsburgh, expanding access to employment services, job readiness support, workforce development opportunities, and community resources for Pittsburgh residents.
About Neighborhood Employment Centers
Neighborhood Employment Centers are community-based organizations that help make employment services more accessible to residents in neighborhoods across Pittsburgh. Through the NEC program, residents can receive support with job readiness, employment referrals, job placement assistance, educational referrals, workshops, and connections to employers and training opportunities.
PCSI’s Role as a Neighborhood Employment Center
As Pittsburgh’s Community Action Agency, PCSI works with individuals and families facing a wide range of challenges, including rising food, utility, and housing costs, barriers to employment, and the need for long-term stability. PCSI’s role as a Neighborhood Employment Center builds on its ongoing workforce development efforts and reflects the strength of PCSI’s employment support, training connections, and community-based services.

Employment and Training Resources
Through this partnership, PCSI will continue offering employment-related services and expand opportunities for residents to connect with workshops, hiring events, job search support, training resources, and community partners.
PCSI also recently launched a new Employment & Training Resources section on its website, featuring free worksheets, resume and interview tips, job search tools, career planning guides, and information about local training opportunities. These resources are part of PCSI’s broader Employment + Career Services for job seekers and residents working toward greater stability.
Getting to PCSI
PCSI is located at 249 N. Craig Street in North Oakland, within two blocks of seven Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) bus routes. These transit connections help make PCSI accessible to residents from many neighborhoods across the city seeking employment support, workshops, training resources, and other services.

To help share information about employment services, upcoming workshops, hiring events, and other community resources, PCSI has also launched The Next Step, a new monthly newsletter. The newsletter highlights PCSI programs, community events, employment and training opportunities, success stories, and other updates that may be helpful to Pittsburgh and Allegheny County residents.
